Harris Radio's New Presidential Playlist Has Five Stars For Eleanor Whitmore

Eleanor Whitmore gets the five stars this time for the latest Harris Radio playlist, honoring the new President.  Harris Radio is spinning tracks from the some-time Austinist and current Brooklynite, as found on her debut album Airplanes.



The playlist also features three current Austinites: newly-reformed Dexter Freebish, Joanna Barbera and Kathleen Taylor.  Plus there is The Liking Strikes from nearby Dallas.

NYC acts are also well represented: Aaron Zimmer, Breaking Laces, Homeboy Steve, the Laura Thomas Band, Misty Boyce and The Hotcakes.

And there is Cantinera from Upstate NY, Daria Musk from Connecticut, Ben Bedford from Illinois, Patrick Fitzsimmons from Vermont and Miles Hunt all the way from England.

But where the acts are from isn't nearly as important as the fact that they make great music, so take a list.  Harris Radio is really the best music in one place on the web right now!

Also to note: This playlist will be the final one in streaming format.  From next month, Harris Radio will become a podcast, available on demand as a stream or download, or as a subscription (that will automatically download to your PC or mp3 player as each program is published).  All for free, of course.

Jason Crigler Takes Five Stars on Harris Radio For The Holidays

Jason Crigler's album The Music of Jason Crigler gets the ***** this month from Harris Radio.  The CD features many of Jason's friends from the NYC (and beyond) music scene, many of them singing lead vocals.



This is a great CD for a holiday present, and you can buy it at CD Baby or download it at iTunes.

You can also purchase Life. Support. Music., the compelling film covering Jason's recovery from a brain hemorrhage in 2004 - an event that meant his CD took a little while longer than planned to get released.

The Swell Season Get Five Stars For October on Harris Radio!

I got to see The Swell Season at ACL last month and reckoned they were the best act there.  Clearly they are enjoying considerable success since winning an Academy Award for Falling Slowly this year.  And now, they are even on Harris Radio - and the ***** act this month!

Also on the playlist this month is a strong Canadian presence, with Broadcast Radio, John Hughes and Scott Nolan.

Some fine NYC indie Rock too, from Hot Seconds, Sean Smith & The Setting Suns and The States.

And very pleased to hear from Philly's The Sobriquets.

Basically, it's all really good, and Harris Radio is free for those Wall Street people in need of some entertainment.
