The Eastern Sea are performing at the W Hotel (in the Record Room bar) as part of the Living Room Live series, put on by The Sessions.  It's on Memorial Day, 9pm.  Wild Child gets things going.

For NYC:



Columbia to NYC transplants Il Abanico are at Rockwood 1 tonight at 10pm.

Pete's Weekend Picks: Sara Overall, Kaiser Cartel

Sara Overall is at Club 606 on Saturday at midnight.  New tunes and new arrangements, she says.

Kaiser Cartel play their final (?) gig tonight at Rockwood 2, 8pm.  Courtney is moving to Michigan.

Ukemi kick off a night at Flipnotics on Saturday at 8pm.  Anam Mila and Annabella follow.

NLX is performing at 8.30pm tonight at Caffe Vivaldi.  New songs ahead of recording in July.

For Austin:



Grace London is at the Pecan Street Festival, Trinity Stage, Sunday at noon.

For NYC:



Suzanna Choffel is at new venue ZirZamin, debuting her NYC band tonight, around midnight.

Rae Morris Video For "Walls" ... She's at Piano's on May 7th

Brit songstress Rae will be in NYC next week, performing at Piano's on Monday, May 7th.  Rae says 9.45pm, the venue says 8pm.  Given the way Piano's runs to time, they are probably both right.  Oh, and she's signed to Atlantic, poor girl, so she really needs your TLC.

Pete's Weekend Picks: Danny Malone, Charlie Faye

For Austin:



Danny Malone is coming to the end of his residency at Hotel Vegas.  Come at 7pm for his live interview with Johnie Goudie for the excellent How Did I Get Here? podcast.  Kacy Crowley's also on the bill.

For NYC:



Austin's Charlie Faye is at Rockwood 1 on Saturday at 9pm.  And fellow Austinites Sideshow Tragedy are there at midnight, but Charlie is more photogenic.

Video - Grace London Covers "Home"

Grace London covered Edward Sharpe's Home at her recent EP release party.  It was a memorable rendition, demonstrating performance craft way beyond her years.  Nothing short of amazing.

One of my favorite bands - The Airborne Toxic Event - including one of my favorite violin femmes Anna Bulbrook - is performing at Four Peaks' Randomonium event on Saturday.  Black Joe Lewis is also on the bill, along with some local bands.  This is where I shall be.

Five Minutes with Grace London

I first met Grace London last year, when she was singing with local rocksters Residual Kid, who played Harris Radio's birthday show - and blown away I was.  But writing, performing and recording her own music was in her future, and it is now in the present, with a debut EP, and an upcoming show to release it - and for a great cause too.  Indie Sounds caught up with Grace for all the news.

Indie Sounds: You're throwing a party this coming Sunday.  What's it all about?

Grace London: I just finished my EP, Rocketship Girl, and I am doing a release party to, well, release it and sell it for the first time!  It's an early evening event at a new restaurant on Congress called Swift's Attic.  Les RAV is also performing, and all the information is here.
